The FMIPA UI PPM Unit has broad duties and functions to provide, facilitate, and monitor research grant activities and community service carried out by students and lecturers at FMIPA UI. The research and community service activity grant scheme can come from various sources, both internal and external, such as from the University of Indonesia, FMIPA UI, the Ministry of Research and Technology, BRIN, and various other funding sources. These various forms of activities are aligned with the performance targets implemented by the Dean of FMIPA UI related to research and community service, including the number of publications in international journals, lecturers' participation in scientific meetings, the number of IPRs, patents, and so on.

The main tasks of the FMIPA UI Research and Community Service Unit are as follows:

  1. Organizing the socialization process to the selection of grant scheme proposals from various funding sources.
  2. Monitoring the implementation and output of research and community service grants carried out by lecturers and students at FMIPA UI.
  3. Providing a grant scheme that is in accordance with the needs and current year performance contracts sourced from FMIPA UI internal funding.
  4. Holding various scientific meetings both at national and international levels every year, with FMIPA UI as the host.
  5. Coordinating various collaboration opportunities from industry, research institutions, and other universities so that they can be utilized by lecturers and students at FMIPA UI.
  6. Coordinating the contribution of FMIPA UI in the world rankings participated by the University of Indonesia.
  7. Coordinating research and community service activities in the Parangtopo Laboratory complex.
