Fast Track Program
Pendidikan > Program Pendidikan > Program Fast Track
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of Indonesia (UI) offers a fast track program as an option for students who want to accelerate their achievement of academic degrees. This program is designed to provide an opportunity for students who excel and are committed to completing their studies faster than through the normal path. There are three types of fast track programs offered:
1. Fast Track S1-S2
The S1-S2 Fast Track program allows students to complete a Bachelor's (S1) and Master's (S2) degree in a shorter time than the regular pathway. Students who choose this program will begin their S2 studies before completing their entire S1 studies, allowing them to integrate S1 and S2 studies more efficiently. This program is suitable for students who want to deepen their knowledge and skills quickly while maintaining high academic standards.
Profit :
- Completion of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in a shorter time.
- Seamless integration between undergraduate and master studies.
- A more focused and intensive academic experience.
2. Fast Track S1-S3
The S1-S3 Fast Track Program is designed for students who aspire to continue to the doctoral level (S3) after completing their Bachelor's degree (S1). In this program, students can start working on their doctoral research before completing their entire S1 studies, allowing a faster transition to doctoral studies. This program is intended for students with a strong research interest and the ambition to pursue an advanced academic or research career.
Profit :
- Faster transition from S1 to S3.
- Possibility to engage in doctoral research earlier.
- Increased opportunities for scholarships and research support.
3. Fast Track S2-S3
The S2-S3 Fast Track Program offers an opportunity for Masters (S2) students to continue directly to the Doctoral (S3) program with a more efficient time. Students who take this program can start their doctoral research before completing their entire S2 studies, allowing them to focus on their research more quickly. This program is ideal for those who have completed their S2 studies and want to immediately continue to the doctoral level with the aim of achieving higher academic and professional achievements.
Profit :
- Acceleration of the path from S2 to S3.
- Early focus on doctoral research.
- A deeper and more integrated academic experience.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of Indonesia has experienced very rapid development since its inception in terms of the number of students, the number of departments and study programs, the number of scholarships, the quality of research, national and international cooperation, and various other activities. Research activities that have been running well at FMIPA are also carried out in parallel with research-based educational activities.
FMIPA has excellent and high-quality undergraduate student input. The involvement of undergraduate students in research activities can accelerate increasingly brilliant research performance. The involvement of undergraduate students in research can be carried out simultaneously with the implementation of postgraduate programs, which do have much more research content. Not only up to S2, by considering the quality of superior students and the need for student involvement in research, the S1-S3 Fast Track Program was designed. In this Fast Track Program, the S1 program is integrated with the S3 program with a dominant research content. This integration results in a S1-S3 program duration of 6 years.
For undergraduate students who are interested in joining the Fast Track Program must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 6th semester GPA of 3.60 with a total of 120 credits (up to 6th semester).
