Doctoral Study Program at FMIPA UI

The Doctoral Program aims to produce scientists who are independent, ethical, and cultured, as well as able to discover, create, update, and enrich the treasury of scientific knowledge through comprehensive and accurate research as a contribution to the development and practice of science, technology, art, and culture to solve national problems and/or to advance human civilization.

The implementation of the Doctoral Program can be carried out through the following channels: (1) Lectures and research, (2) Research.

The Doctoral Program study load is a minimum of 42 (forty-two) credits, scheduled for 6 (six) semesters and can be completed in at least 4 (four) semesters, or a maximum of 10 (ten) semesters. Doctoral Program lectures, Lecture and Research Paths can be carried out at the University of Indonesia in full or partially taken at partner universities abroad through International Mobility.

Doctoral Program by Study and Research

Requires students to take a number of structured courses listed in the curriculum, with a weight of at least 12 (twelve) credits and a maximum of 16 (sixteen) credits. Students are required to have scientific paper publications related to their research field as the main author accompanied by the Promoter and Co-Promoter and have been accepted for publication in reputable indexed international journals, with a weight of at least 4 (four) credits and a maximum of 6 (six) credits.

Research Doctoral Program

Requires students to attend regular seminars on literature reviews, especially reputable scientific journals related to their main research, with a weight of at least 5 (five) credits and a maximum of 8 (eight) credits.

Students are required to have scientific paper publications related to their research field as the main author accompanied by a Promoter and Co-Promoter that have been accepted at least in a national journal indexed by SINTA 2, with a weight of at least 5 (five) credits and a maximum of 6 (six) credits. In addition, students are required to have scientific paper publications related to their research field as the main author accompanied by a Promoter and Co-Promoter that have been accepted for publication in a reputable indexed international journal or a book accepted for publication by an internationally reputable indexed book publisher with a weight of at least 5 (five) credits and a maximum of 6 (six) credits.

Doctoral Program students can study outside the University of Indonesia through university programs in the form of:

  1. Student Exchange Program
  2. International Special Class Program
  3. Program Overseas
  4. Program Joint-Degree
  5. International Mobility Program
  6. Other programs recognized by the University.

Doctoral Program in Materials Science

The doctoral study program in materials science, FMIPA UI, produces graduates who are able to produce independent research work that is innovative, original and recognized by the international materials community as a result of the development of new materials science and technology that is beneficial to humanity.

Doctoral Program in Chemistry

The doctoral study program in chemistry, FMIPA UI produces graduates who have competence and carry out research and innovation activities in the science of sub-fields of chemistry which include sub-fields of specialization in biological fields (natural materials, nano-phase polymers, biotechnology), non-biological (catalytic, photocatalytic, metaloxide macromolecule networks, sensors), able to compete in the international world.

Biology Doctoral Study Program

The FMIPA UI Biology Doctoral study program produces graduates who are able to independently develop new knowledge and/or technology in the field of sustainable biodiversity conservation and utilization through inter, multi and trans disciplinary research, so that they are able to produce innovative, original and tested works at the national and international levels.

Doctoral Program in Physics

The FMIPA UI Physics Doctoral Study Program produces graduates who are able to develop physics and its applications through research that is recognized nationally and internationally with a multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach.
